Senior Operations Executive – Logistics & Freight ForwardingKey Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate end-to-end import/export operations for both air and ocean freight (FCL & LCL), ensuring compliance, timely execution, and accuracy in documentation.
  • Lead customs clearance processes, liaising effectively with customs authorities, shipping lines, and regulatory bodies to resolve issues and ensure smooth cargo movement.
  • Manage and optimize logistics operations across international trade lanes, particularly the U.S.–Middle East route, including weekly consolidations and cross-trade services (Skyocean Logistics).
  • Supervise and collaborate with inland transport providers, warehousing teams, and courier services to streamline supply chain activities and reduce delays.
  • Monitor and analyze cargo tracking data, preparing detailed performance reports, KPIs, and operational insights for management review.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to ports, airports, and the handling of special cargo such as dangerous goods or perishables (Skyocean Logistics).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated operational challenges, providing guidance to junior team members and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Drive process improvements, contribute to implementation of new systems or tools to enhance workflow efficiency and operational transparency.
  • Maintain and audit operational documentation, including SOPs, shipment records, invoices, and compliance reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–10 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCL/LCL freight handling, customs regulations, and international shipping documentation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP or Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a strong advantage.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory compliance, including procedures for hazardous cargo, perishables, and out-of-gauge shipments.

Preferred Experience:

  • Operational leadership within GCC and India logistics markets.
  • Exposure to special cargo categories such as exhibition freight, project cargo, or dangerous goods.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to training or knowledge-sharing initiatives.
