The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth movement of food items, supplies, and equipment from point A to point B across both intra-city and inter-city routes. This role requires strong planning, vendor management, and execution skills, along with proven experience in handling logistics in the hospitality or food industry. The individual will ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant transportation while maintaining the quality and safety of goods in transit.
Logistics Planning & Execution
Develop, implement, and optimize logistics plans for the movement of food items and supplies across outlets, central kitchens, and partner locations.
Ensure timely and safe intercity and intracity transportation of perishable and non-perishable goods.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to plan routes, schedules, and delivery timelines.
Vendor & Fleet Management
Manage third-party logistics partners, courier services, and transport vendors.
Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements to ensure cost efficiency.
Oversee fleet utilization (owned or outsourced) and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Inventory & Documentation
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure proper dispatch and receipt of goods.
Maintain accurate shipment records, invoices, and compliance documents.
Track and reconcile deliveries, addressing discrepancies or damages.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with FSSAI and other regulatory requirements for transporting food items.
Monitor cold-chain logistics (where applicable) to preserve food quality.
Implement best practices in hygiene, safety, and security during transit.
Problem Solving & Cost Optimization
Troubleshoot logistics challenges such as delays, breakdowns, or shortages.
Continuously identify areas to reduce costs without compromising quality or timelines.
Implement technology-driven solutions (GPS tracking, route optimization, ERP integration) to improve efficiency.
Reporting & Team Collaboration
Provide regular updates and MIS reports on deliveries, costs, and vendor performance.
Work closely with procurement, kitchen operations, and outlet teams to align the supply chain with business needs.
Train and guide logistics staff and support teams where required.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
Minimum 6+ years of experience in logistics management, preferably in hospitality, F&B, or food supply chain.
Strong knowledge of intercity and intracity logistics, vendor management, and food-grade transportation.
Experience in handling perishable goods and cold chain logistics is highly desirable.
Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Excel.
