Job Purpose:
The Planning Engineer (Civil) is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure civil construction activities are executed within time and cost targets. The role involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Prepare baseline programs in line with contract requirements and ensure approval from stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and prepare variance reports.
- Identify and analyze project delays, propose mitigation measures, and support claims management.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to update schedule inputs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, and dashboards.
- Participate in project meetings, providing insights on schedule status and forecast completion dates.
- Assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims with proper delay analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company planning standards, procedures, and reporting formats.
- Support the Project Manager in resource planning, cash flow forecasts, and productivity tracking.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in building construction projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of project planning techniques (CPM, resource loading, earned value).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
