Senior Plumbing Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Plumbing Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision of plumbing systems in building and infrastructure projects. This includes water supply, drainage, fire protection, and related mechanical systems — ensuring compliance with international codes, local regulations, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and review plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, stormwater, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare design calculations, layouts, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with international standards (e.g., IPC, NFPA, ASHRAE) and local codes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural) to avoid design conflicts.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements from contractors.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure installation matches the approved design and specifications.
• Support procurement by preparing bill of quantities (BOQ) and reviewing vendor data sheets.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and draftsmen.
• Assist in resolving design-related issues during construction.
• Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 7–10 years of relevant experience in plumbing design and supervision (preferably in building services or MEP projects).
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., Elite, HASS).
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, fire protection, and water balance design.
• Familiarity with international and local plumbing codes.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong project coordination and communication skills.
• Leadership and mentoring ability for junior engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management.
