Metso Middle East is looking for senior process specialist to greenfield pellet processing plant in Egypt. This would be a key role in pelletizing section at plant, consisting of 2 lines, total 5.0 million tons per year for iron ore concentrate processing. Key equipment in pelletizing section: pelletizing discs for green pellet formation, travelling grate, rotary kiln, annular cooler, burners, and reciprocating conveyors.
Site will be operating with roster, transportation and flights to/from site is provided by Metso. Work contract will be fix for 2 years period, with possibility to extension.
Purpose of the job is to be a part of site production providing technical support and expertise knowledge to Customer operationteam and oversee the daily production. Site is a greenfield site and after commissioning it shall be ramped up to name plate production. Work will include tasks typical to green field site where team members need to be trained and coached to production processes. SOP's and instruction to operate needs to be build. As a senior member you shall lead and contribute to developing these processes.
Requirements to manage the role
- Work as a senior process specialist of production of pellet processing plant, at on pelletizing processing plant area. Manage metallurgical operation in a manner that achieve/exceeds specified production. Managing site organization, developing teams. Monitor and guide the Client's operating team (control room and field operators) through advisory support. Support plant stabilization and oversee gradual ramp-up to target throughput.
- Follow site production strategy / annual plan, ensure that planning and design can support and sustain the projected targets coordinating with other site functions. Actively participate in alignment meetings between client, partners, and Metso team. To continuously develop practices and methods to provide a profitable, safe and sound operation and direct all operational and process development work done on site. Through good communications with other site personnel ensure that the metallurgical process is fully understood in the context of other site activities. Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose optimization strategies.
- Oversee that production is managed optimum way. Ensure that production delivers targets from the delivered ore which will meet all Customer's specifications. Contribute to brainstorming sessions for de-bottlenecking and resolving operational challenges. Verify process parameters and ensure adherence to commissioning protocols. Mentor junior metallurgists and engineers on best practices and problem-solving. Train operators during live plant operations and ensure knowledge transfer for long-term sustainability.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely policy. Monitor safety compliance and provide recommendations and feedback.
- To motivate personnel to achieve sustained high levels of performance and coordinate all production department personnel are appropriately trained and have access to adequate career development opportunities. Ensure compliance with environmental standards during commissioning activities.
- Collaborate and facilitate activities for Metso equipment specialists (on-site or online). Support performance testing and acceptance criteria verification.
Basic requirements

Technical competence
- years relevant experience from pelletizing/metallurgical/mineral processing plants.
- Experience in managing process and operational crews in a pellet plant
- Previous greenfield/commissioning/ramp up experience.
- Ability to motivate and lead others. Ability to manage and control complex situations, changes and crises appropriately
- English skills (written and spoken)
