Senior Project Director (MEP & Automation)

Job Summary
Cybele Systems is seeking a Senior Project Director to command our major infrastructure portfolio in Sharjah. This is not a standard MEP role; it is a leadership position at the intersection of mechanical engineering and digital intelligence. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of high-value projects, ensuring that complex MEP systems integrate seamlessly with next-generation Building Management Systems (BMS). You are the guarantor of profitability, quality, and SEWA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management: Direct the execution of multiple concurrent projects, holding full P&L accountability. You will ensure projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
• Technical Integration: Bridge the gap between mechanical/electrical installation and automation. You must ensure that the MEP design supports the BMS, GRMS (Guest Room Management Systems), and IoT requirements without conflict.
• Authority Liaison: Lead high-level negotiations with SEWA (Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority), Sharjah Civil Defense, and Sharjah Municipality to secure approvals and permanent power connections on time.
• Commercial Strategy: Manage contract administration (FIDIC), overseeing variation orders, claims, and payment certifications. You will protect the company’s commercial interests against scope creep.
• Supply Chain: Oversee the procurement of critical long-lead items (Chillers, Generators, Switchgear), ensuring technical submittals match project specs and vendor timelines.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a team of Senior Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Automation Engineers.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 18–20 years in MEP Contracting, with at least 7 years in a Project Director or Operations Manager role.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s degree or PMP is preferred.
• Local Authority: Deep, proven knowledge of SEWA regulations and inspection processes is non-negotiable. You must know how to navigate the approvals landscape in Sharjah.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in ELV/BMS systems. You should understand protocols like BACnet, KNX, and Modbus.
• Project Scale: Experience delivering projects exceeding AED 100 Million in MEP value.
