Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior Project Engineer to manage and oversee complete project execution activities from project initiation until final handover. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction project management, site execution, planning, client coordination, team management, and technical supervision within steel structure, PEB, façade, fit-out, or construction projects in the GCC/UAE region.
The candidate will be responsible for leading project execution teams, coordinating with consultants and main contractors, monitoring project progress, controlling resources, ensuring quality and safety compliance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring successful completion of projects within approved timelines and budgets.
The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, planning capabilities, and the ability to independently manage multiple site activities and stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Site Management
- Manage and supervise complete project execution activities from approved drawing stage until final project handover.
- Lead overall site operations and ensure smooth execution of project activities.
- Ensure all works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate all construction, installation, erection, fit-out, façade, and finishing activities based on project scope.
- Review construction drawings, IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals before execution.
- Ensure proper implementation of approved construction methodologies and procedures.
- Handle site planning and organize work sequences to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure project targets and deadlines are achieved within the approved project timeline.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship quality throughout execution stages.
- Ensure smooth coordination between site teams and head office departments.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Attend and lead project meetings, coordination meetings, technical meetings, and progress review meetings.
- Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders to ensure project requirements are properly executed.
- Handle technical discussions and coordinate approvals related to project execution activities.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams regarding technical clarifications and drawing revisions.
- Ensure timely resolution of site-related technical and coordination issues.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for material planning, tracking, and delivery schedules.
- Liaise with logistics and factory teams to ensure smooth material supply and project workflow.
- Coordinate authority inspections, consultant inspections, and approvals when required.
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and manage project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, foremen, QA/QC personnel, safety officers, and subcontractor teams.
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and resources effectively based on project priorities.
- Monitor workforce productivity and ensure efficient utilization of manpower.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership support to site teams.
- Conduct regular team meetings and site briefings to monitor project progress and resolve execution challenges.
- Ensure discipline, productivity, and proper coordination among all site personnel.
- Support and motivate teams to achieve project targets and deadlines.
Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare and monitor lookahead schedules and short-term execution plans.
- Coordinate project planning activities in line with baseline project schedules.
- Monitor project progress against planned targets and identify delays or risks.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Coordinate recovery plans and corrective actions to minimize project delays.
- Monitor productivity rates, resource allocation, and work sequencing.
- Support planning engineers in updating project schedules and progress tracking.
- Ensure proper coordination between engineering, procurement, fabrication, and site execution activities.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Ensure all project activities comply with approved QA/QC procedures and project quality standards.
- Monitor inspections and testing activities throughout project execution.
- Prepare and review WIR, MIR, inspection requests, NCRs, RFIs, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, approvals, and quality compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation control and maintenance of project records.
- Monitor snagging activities and ensure timely closure of snags and punch points.
- Ensure project documentation is properly maintained for final handover submission.
Commercial & Project Control Support
- Support commercial and quantity surveying teams with progress verification and site measurements.
- Coordinate project billing activities and work progress certifications.
- Monitor material consumption and resource utilization to minimize wastage.
- Assist in variation works, additional scope coordination, and claim-related documentation.
- Ensure proper reporting of completed work quantities and project progress status.
Project Handover & Close-Out
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, and project close-out activities.
- Ensure all pending works, snags, and punch list items are completed before handover.
- Coordinate final inspections and approvals with consultants and clients.
- Ensure submission of handover documentation, as-built drawings, and project close-out records.
- Ensure smooth and successful final handover of projects to clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8–12 years of GCC/UAE experience in construction, steel structure, PEB, façade, or fit-out projects.
- Strong experience in handling complete project lifecycle from drawings to handover.
- Experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in construction execution, erection works, and project coordination.
- Ability to independently handle consultants, clients, and main contractor coordination.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good understanding of project planning, lookahead scheduling, and execution strategies.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, AutoCAD, MS Project, and project reporting tools.
- Experience in QA/QC procedures, WIR, MIR, inspections, and project documentation.
- Strong communication, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project activities simultaneously.
- UAE Driving License is preferred.
