Job Description:
- Lead and supervise all civil and structural construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, HSE policies, and project timelines.
- Serve as a senior liaison between project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure smooth project coordination and execution.
- Prepare and validate comprehensive daily logs, weekly and monthly progress reports, identifying key accomplishments, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor overall project schedule and cost performance, proactively identifying delays or budget deviations, and implementing recovery plans to maintain contractual commitments.
- Conduct advanced site inspections, quality audits, and technical reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory codes.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements, ensuring alignment with project requirements and construction feasibility.
- Enforce high standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) on site, leading incident investigations, safety drills, and promoting a culture of safety-first among teams.
- Support project budgeting and cost control efforts by validating subcontractor claims, monitoring material consumption, and assisting with financial reporting and invoicing.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to project engineers, junior staff, and site personnel, fostering professional development and effective problem-solving.
- Maintain rigorous project documentation including RFIs, NCRs, test reports, inspection logs, as-built records, and correspondence, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Represent the project management team in high-level meetings with clients, consultants, and government authorities, providing strategic input and timely updates on project performance.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices in construction planning, value engineering, and resource management to enhance project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred or an advantage).
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering, including project execution for large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in managing complex construction projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering codes, QA/QC standards, and local authority regulations.
- Proficient in project management tools including Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and MS Project, with strong command of MS Office applications.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, project documentation, and construction law.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive performance and resolve issues under pressure.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare and deliver high-level project reports and presentations.
- GCC experience and a valid local driving license are highly preferred.
