Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and oversee all civil and structural construction activities in line with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Review IFC and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with contractual and design requirements.
- Supervise core construction operations including excavation, foundations, reinforced concrete works, blockwork, finishing trades, and external infrastructure works.
- Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and various engineering disciplines to maintain workflow efficiency and prevent delays.
- Inspect formwork systems, reinforcement installation, concrete casting, and finishing works to confirm adherence to approved procedures and quality standards.
- Verify that materials, workmanship, and applied construction techniques conform to project specifications and accepted industry practices.
- Track manpower productivity, equipment deployment, and work progress against the approved baseline program.
- Interface with consultants, project management teams, and client representatives for inspections, approvals, and clarification of technical matters.
- Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests (IRs), site instructions, and related construction documentation.
- Assist in the development and review of method statements, material submittals, permits, and other technical documentation.
- Identify drawing inconsistencies, site constraints, and potential schedule impacts, proposing effective solutions to maintain progress.
- Ensure adherence to established QA/QC systems and HSE requirements to maintain safe and quality-driven site operations.
- Work closely with planning and quantity surveying teams to monitor executed quantities, productivity rates, and material consumption.
- Maintain detailed records of progress, inspections, and resource utilization for reporting and audit purposes.
- Foster a collaborative, disciplined, and performance-oriented work environment among site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractor teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 6–10 years of practical experience overseeing civil and structural construction works, preferably within building or infrastructure developments.
- Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete construction, rebar detailing, formwork systems, finishing works, and standard construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, with practical familiarity in planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
- Sound understanding of international construction standards and codes including ACI, BS, ASTM, and related specifications.
- Proven leadership, coordination, and communication skills with solid hands-on site supervision experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and results-focused mindset.
- Working knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection protocols, and HSE compliance practices.
- Prior GCC project experience and possession of a valid driving license are considered added advantages.
