Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is the chief representative for handling projects with customers, vendors, and internal departments. Project Managers must successfully communicate with all parties involved to ensure a cost effective, schedule sensitive, and team-oriented result. The Senior Project Manager is expected to also manage large and complex projects, often with multiple demands from important clients. This role is responsible for team leadership with internal departments including estimating, or project engineer/assistant PM, and external vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
- Clear and positive communication with all stakeholders
- Utilizes all of SteelFab's resources with financial responsibility to ensure the best possible outcome for the customer and project
- Creates/oversees vendor subcontracts and purchase orders timely after both thorough review & coordination with estimating
- Evaluates, negotiates, and executes customer subcontracts (with executive management)
- Promptly submits all change requests for scope, time, and costs & performs all negotiations and follow up necessary to customer's satisfaction
- Oversees & executes progress billings, submittal processes, vendor pay requests, and changes to vendor commitments
- Run monthly Work-In-Process update for financial reporting & comparison to estimates
- Manage all RFI's from detailer, vendors, otherwise and takes full responsibility for receiving answers and distributing to necessary parties to maintain schedule
- Oversees all job meetings, including pre-detailing, pre-erection, BIM and internal meetings including preparation & planning
- Ensures timely job deliveries with vendors, internal shipping, and customer to meet schedules and site requirements without delay, confusion, or unnecessary costs
- Attends and represents SteelFab at customer required meetings and professionally works with customer to handle all communication to resolve conflicts
- Schedules and attends regular jobsite meetings to review progress
- Monitors production reports and offers input internally to properly schedule fabrication
- Adherence to Behavioral and Conduct standards
- Adherence to Safety protocols
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum associates 2-year college degree.
- 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related fields preferred
- Continuing education in project management training, organization, and leadership development skills is preferred
- Experience in project management & miscellaneous metals and structural steel knowledge required
- Leadership experience is a preferred
- High level of accountability
