SENIOR PSYCHIATRIST (SUPERVISOR)

DSH-Napa has an immediate need for a permanent full-time Senior Psychiatrist (Supervisor). Senior Psychiatrist (Supervisor) duties include, but are not limited to, direct supervision of Psychiatrists providing care to patients. They conduct annual appraisals and reviews of probationary and privileged psychiatrists. The Senior Psychiatrist mentors Staff Psychiatrists and reviews clinical records monitoring compliance with documentation standards and psychopharmacological practice. The Senior Psychiatrist participates in Hospital committees as determined by the Chief of Psychiatry. The Senior Psychiatrist reports to the Chief of Psychiatry. They ensure psychiatrists demonstrate clinical competence consistent with standards set forth by the Joint Commission and State Licensing.


This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for Range U $29,829.00, Range V $30,542.00.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
