Senior Public Relation Specialist

Reporting to: PR Manager
Role purpose
Provide day-to-day oversight and coordination for PR communications on behalf of minstry. The role focuses on managing agencies and partners, guiding content and channel execution through structured briefs and approvals, advising on media engagement and reputational considerations, and ensuring communications activities are aligned with conference operations and stakeholder requirements. The role exercises strong judgement and governance to maintain quality, consistency, and readiness across all CRA communications, under the direction of the PR Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Provide oversight of PR communications delivery, maintaining an integrated view of priorities, timelines, dependencies, and risks across all outputs.
- Manage and direct the daily workflow with external partners (PR agency, social media agency, design/production vendors, web/CMS support), including briefing, setting standards, reviewing outputs, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Coordinate internal inputs and clearances across departments and event workstreams, advising on messaging sensitivities and ensuring stakeholder alignment prior to release.
- Govern the approvals process for bilingual (Arabic/English) communications materials, including review cycles, version control, and release readiness.
- Oversee media relations operations and advise on engagement approach across local, regional, and international media, informed by strong understanding of the Qatari media landscape; coordinate routing of inquiries and preparation of approved responses.
- Oversee spokesperson support and interview readiness, ensuring briefing packs, approved talking points/Q&As, logistics, and follow-up are coordinated to a consistent standard.
- Oversee the development and release of bilingual communications outputs through agencies and internal stakeholders (press releases, media statements/advisories, factsheets, briefing packs, FAQs/Q&As, web updates, and social copy), ensuring quality, tone, and alignment with guidelines.
- Oversee the website and media resources updates process, ensuring timely bilingual publishing and consistency across press, web, and social channels (execution through web/agency teams as applicable).
- Align PR, social media, and creative production efforts to ensure cohesive sequencing, consistent messaging, and clear escalation pathways for sensitive items.
- Provide oversight of creative and A/V production deliverables (photography, videography, edited clips, captions/supers, media-ready packs), ensuring briefs are clear, approvals are secured, and assets meet required standards and timelines.
- Coordinate with events/programme, protocol, venue, and operations teams to align communications execution with the conference calendar, runsheets, stakeholder movements, and on-ground timelines; ensure effective interface with event management vendors and venue/service providers.
- Keep the PR Manager regularly briefed with decision-ready updates on progress, approvals, media activity, emerging risks, and upcoming milestones, including recommended actions.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting of media coverage and sentiment and support issues-response preparedness through agreed escalation protocols and pre-approved holding lines, as directed.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in PR/media relations and communications delivery, with demonstrated support for international events and conferences.
- Proven experience managing agencies and stakeholders, running structured briefing and approvals processes, and maintaining quality control in high-visibility environments.
- Strong familiarity with the Qatari media landscape and experience engaging across local, regional, and international media.

- Strong judgement and discretion; able to advise leadership on sensitivities, sequencing, and reputational considerations.
- Strong management and coordination capability, including planning, prioritisation, and disciplined follow-up across parallel workstreams.
- Strong editorial oversight skills, with the ability to review and quality-control bilingual outputs to a consistent standard.
- Confident in overseeing media operations, spokesperson readiness, and interview coordination.
- Operational comfort in live event environments, including coordination with venues, vendors, and multi-stakeholder programmes.
- Strong digital and production literacy across website/CMS workflows, social requirements, and photo/video production.
- Collaborative working style and the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural, international environment.
Language and tools
- Full professional fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory; French is an advantage.
- Proficient with standard communications and collaboration tools, including CMS environments, content scheduling/monitoring tools, and MS Office/Teams/SharePoint.
Work conditions
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak milestones and conference week, with on-site presence required for key media activities and event delivery.

Contract length: 8 months
Pay: From QAR15,000.00 per month
