To ensure purchase of input raw materials, packaging material and consumables as per specified requirements only from approved supplies.
Communication of FSSC related matters to suppliers, vendors, service providers
Responsible for implementation of PRP applicable elements within the department
Responsible for HIAC study and establishing adequate monitoring and control over the CCP’s and OPRP’s identified
To establish an effective inventory control and storing mechanism
To maintain an effective vendor list by way of vendor evaluation program
Monitoring shelf life items and arranging for return/replacement of rejected inputs
Devise, strategise and implement policies and procedures that boost the efficiency of material management and inventory control
Create accurate logs and records that document all the details regarding inventory control and material planning, particularly procurement activities, vendor details and quantities
Adhere to local, national, and international laws and safety standards while implementing inventory and material management activities
Train, manage and oversee subordinates to reach their maximum potential
Perform material resource management for a company that has inventory or stock
Monitor the procurement, storage and distribution of raw materials that fall under the category of inventory
Stick to cost-effective methods while performing material planning and control initiatives
Purchase and acquire materials as per pre-defined specifications, keeping in mind the accuracy and quality standards
Ensure efficiency in the entire supply chain process through effective material planning and inventory control
Keep a log of accurate records of inventory material and stock through diligent documentation
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, a valid certification in materials management or a relevant area of study / Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration, with focus on supply-chain management
Prior experience working as a materials manager, or in an inventory management system
Adept understanding of local and regional laws that are applicable to material management and inventory control
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred skills and qualifications
Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001 or SAP MM
Demonstrated experience in organisational or leadership roles
Lead daily control meetings, identifying issues and actions to be taken
Conduct root-cause analysis of failures and take corrective actions
Provide oversight for budgetary, scheduling, and project database, and report regularly to senior managers about progress, plans, and problems that could affect costs or schedules
Consult with various internal business units and vendors to identify opportunities for improvements of the supply-chain network
Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications
Required skills and qualifications
10 or more years of experience in logistics for wholesale distribution or retail supply chain
10 or more years of experience in project management or a leadership position
Strong systems skills, including proficiency with integrated software applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred skills and qualifications
Knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations (including maritime, over-the-road, rail, customs, and warehousing)
