Why does the job exist?

This position will initiate contract development, amendments, and expenditures, and will assist with the development of Provider Agreements and Request for Proposals. This position will track and provide general oversight to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, rules, regulations, statutes and adherence to the State Procurement Code. Incumbent will manage warehouse inventory and supplies.
How does it get done?

This position is responsible for administration and contract development for the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center, and will work closely with Program Managers, Administrative Services Division, the Purchasing Bureau and contractors to ensure contracts are finalized by prescribed deadlines. Incumbent will initiate contract development, amendments, and expenditures, and will assist with the development of Provider Agreements and Request for Proposals. Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC), and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate within 45 days as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
