Job Description


Senior Quality Management Analyst, full time, exempt

Provides advanced analytic oversight and strategic insight to support organizational decision-making related to quality outcomes, provider performance, and quality regulatory priorities. Translates complex clinical and operational data into actionable intelligence that informs quality improvement, pay-for-performance programs, and provider profiling. Leads the design, validation, and interpretation of analytic methodologies, including benchmarking, threshold setting, and variation analysis. Partners with clinical, operational, and system stakeholders to align data strategy with enterprise quality goals. Delivers high-value analysis and recommendations that drive measurable improvement in clinical quality, patient outcomes, and performance optimization.


  • Lead descriptive and exploratory analytics for clinical quality initiatives, including clinical variation analysis, reportable quality metrics, and performance improvement priorities.
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and ongoing execution of the electronic Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) process, ensuring accurate provider attribution, timely data refresh, and production of required trending and summary reports.
  • Design, maintain and disseminate executive-level status boards and dashboards to monitor quality outcomes, provider performance, and pay-for-performance programs.
  • Serve as a system liaison with the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) on data governance, metric definitions, benchmarking methodology, and pay-for-performance reporting.
  • Works with the Quality team to support metric governance by developing data collection system, defining data sources, calculation logic, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and version control.
  • Architect and manage analytic databases and data structures to support efficient data storage, processing, and reuse; continuously enhance performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Develop and automate reporting solutions, data extracts, and analytic tools; serve as a subject-matter resource to Quality Analysts on appropriate analytic methods and tool utilization.
  • Mentor and coach team members on analytic best practices, statistical thinking, and data interpretation; provide consultation on project feasibility, data requirements, and analytic approach.
  • Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to meet internal, regulatory, and external reporting standards.
  • Drives improvement through collaboration with clinical and operational leaders to understand workflows and performance gaps; translate analytic findings into actionable recommendations to improve quality of care, patient outcomes, efficiency, and cost.
  • Present analytic findings effectively through written reports, oral presentations, and visual graphics to diverse audiences.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary committees and governance structures, identifying opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve data collection and analytic processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and integrity standards across all analytic solutions and workflows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role.

Work Experience

Education & Experience - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Statistics, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Four (4) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare data analytics, quality analytics, or performance improvement. Years of experience can be substituted for relevant certifications.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power BI, and PowerPoint


Education & Experience - Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Adept at Artificial Intelligence skills, queries and report writing. Programming skills preferred. Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), or equivalent



Compensation:

Pay Range: $40.61-$60.96
