Job Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will ensure the collation of information to measure the financial and physical performance of projects against targets. He/She will be responsible for project estimations, reviewing contractor payment requests, and assisting the contract administrator to resolve claims and contractual disputes.

  • Assess the cost-effectiveness of project package designs and track actual costs as the project develops;
  • Analyze drawings and documentation, preparing cost estimates including labor and materials;
  • Establish cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures;
  • Monitor project progress, measure and value variations during the contract, and manage interim payments and final accounts;
  • Maintain a database of costs and rates;
  • Develop estimates and follow up on changes and adjustments;
  • Create monthly forecasts and cost reports;
  • Value completed work and arrange payments;
  • Ensure subcontractor payment policies are followed;
  • Check interim claims and recommend certification values;
  • Assist in resolving contractual issues, disputes, and claims;
  • Prepare take-offs from drawings and compare with site measurements;
  • Prepare inquiries and comparisons, and participate in procurement;
  • Work as part of a team to meet client requirements;
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Team player.

Additional Information

  • Member of R.I.C.S;
  • FIDIC (Contract Management) experience is a plus.
