Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
- Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
- Preparation and Verification of Estimation of building or any construction work
- Preparation and Verification of quantities of materia
- Preparation and Verification and Approvals of Bills ( Labor/Contractor
- Checking of specification of work as per work order and tender documents.
- Finalization of bills with actuals on site physical verification of the work done
- Value the complete work and arrange payments of labor etc.
- Coordinating with the site supervisor/engineer/contractor.
- Manage relative priorities, unblock projects and act as a catalyst to fulfill business objectives.
- Work with the support team to identify any systemic issues.
- Check the progress of the site ensuring no deviation from the drawings.
- Understanding of building craft, material, and the process of traditional design.
- Well versed with modes of measurements of Civil , Interior , Faade , MEP , Fire Fighting and other services .
- The primary role of a quantity surveyor includes calculating the budget based on the consumer’s requirement and preparing an effective budget estimate for each stage of the construction process.
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or similar.
- Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction.
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
- Great networking abilities.
