Assist the projects team by providing support in commercial activities by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for the Fit out operations.

Overview

The ideal candidate for the role as Senior Quantity Surveyor has the following skills, personal qualities, and experience:

Responsibilities

• Perform the commercial activities (viz. contractual documentation and writing).
• Preparation and tracking of variation submittals.
• Preparation of progress billing and follow up on collections.
• Check Bill of Quantities (BOQs) against drawings to raise claims and assist the Project Manager with cost monitoring and controlling.
• Prepare work orders and recommendations for subcontract and material orders ensuring that costs are within project budget; ensure compliance with the commercial framework.
• Carry out QS functions, BOQ preparation, management and measurement activities.
• Evaluate all contractual correspondence between clients and Project Manager to recommend suitable response.
• Ensure delays in project work are properly accounted for and documented to avoid liability to the company; negotiate extensions of timelines with the main contractor.
• Verify that the final contract aligns with the original letter of intent; advise project manager on responses to contractual claims, delays, etc.
• Submit evaluation of monthly progress invoices for the project site; follow up delays in other contractors and communicate consequences to the company.
• Timely submission and agreement of project final accounts and close out of subcontractor final accounts; manage reversal of duplicate orders on Epicor.
• Prepare and update project cost reports monthly and present to senior management.
• Coordinate with Estimation and Purchasing Departments and other contractors on project finances, expenditures, delays and required materials.
• Ensure compliance with Havelock code of conduct at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying with a minimum of 10 years' experience in the same role.
• Strong knowledge of Quantity Surveying and Contractual background.
• Fully proficient in various forms of FIDIC Contracts.
• Experience handling projects valued AED 50 - 100M.
• Ability to finalize contractual terms with contractors and proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of the interiors industry.
• Good technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multinational environment.
• Efficient time management, high responsibility level and dependability.
