  • Prepare detailed cost estimates during concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
  • Develop cost plans and feasibility studies based on design concepts and project data.
  • Benchmark project costs against similar projects to ensure competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to provide cost advice throughout design development.
  • Review design drawings and specifications to identify potential cost impacts and value engineering opportunities.
  • Recommend alternative materials, systems, or construction methods to optimize costs.
  • Establish project budgets and maintain cost control throughout the design process.
  • Monitor changes in design and update cost estimates accordingly.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management and clients.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost schedules, and tender documents.
  • Conduct tender analysis and evaluation of contractor and supplier bids.
  • Assist in pre-qualification and selection of contractors and vendors.
  • Lead value engineering workshops with design and project teams.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising design intent or quality.
  • Assess cost risks associated with design decisions and project changes.
  • Maintain a change log and evaluate the financial impact of variations.
  • Liaise with design, procurement, and project management teams to align cost objectives.
  • Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Present cost summaries and recommendations to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure all cost-related activities adhere to project, company, and regulatory standards.
  • Keep up to date with construction market rates, inflation trends, and industry benchmarks.
