The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee cost estimation, financial management, and contract administration for our construction projects. This role demands a thorough understanding of building economics, contract law, and project management to ensure financial efficiency and project success.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform risk and value management and cost control.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
• Advise on a procurement strategy.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
• Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
• Monitor and report on project progress against the budget.
• Ensure that project costs are kept within budget.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports for clients and senior management.
• Manage and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Strong understanding of contract law and standard forms of contracts.
• Proven experience in cost estimation, financial management, and reporting.
