Senior Relationship Manager, Private Credit, US Merchant Bank, Riyadh

Background:

Our client is a US-based merchant bank comprised of private markets asset management, business consulting services, and technology solutions. Having established an office in Saudi Arabia, they are now expanding their presence in the region and seeking a highly driven Relationship Manager / Business Development professional to spearhead origination and client acquisition for their private credit platform in the Kingdom.


This individual will play an integral role in establishing regional presence, reporting directly to the Head of Direct Leading and working closely with the global leadership and capital formation teams. Given the lean nature of the current office, the role requires a self-starter with strong entrepreneurial drive, a commercial mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, build-out environment.


Job Description:

  • Origination & client acquisition: Identify, approach, and develop relationships with corporates, family offices, institutions, and strategic partners in Saudi Arabia to source private credit opportunities.
  • Relationship management: Build and maintain deep, trust-based relationships with senior decision-makers, positioning the firm as a preferred partner for private credit solutions.
  • Business development strategy: Develop and execute a regional growth strategy, contributing to market positioning and platform building efforts.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal credit, investment, and legal teams in structuring bespoke private credit solutions aligned with client needs and the firm’s investment strategy.
  • Market intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments in Saudi Arabia to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Representation: Act as an ambassador in industry forums, conferences, and client meetings across the Kingdom.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in business development, origination, or relationship management within private credit, private equity, investment banking, or related financial services.
  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing deals in Saudi Arabia, with a strong network across corporates, family offices, and institutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a lean setup and taking ownership of business development and origination activities.
  • Deep understanding of credit-oriented investment solutions and the regional financing landscape.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language skills highly preferred
