About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to architect, develop, and optimize backend systems and web applications. This role requires expertise in Ruby on Rails, API development, and database management, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor junior developers while ensuring coding standards, scalability, and application reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain backend applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• API Development & Integration: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs; integrate with third-party systems and ensure secure data exchange.
• Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize schemas, queries, and indexes in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• System Performance & Scalability: Identify bottlenecks, optimize code performance, and ensure systems are secure and reliable at scale.
• Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; conduct peer reviews and enforce coding best practices.
• Deployment & CI/CD: Implement automated testing strategies (RSpec, Minitest) and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work with product managers, QA engineers, and designers to deliver solutions; mentor junior developers and share technical expertise.
• Problem Solving & Innovation: Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend improvements to system design and development processes.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
• o Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Ruby Developer.o Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails for building scalable web applications.o Proven experience with API development, integrations, and backend architecture.
• Technical Skills:
• o Proficiency in Ruby, Rails, and object-oriented programming principles.o Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.o Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).o Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).o Strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
