ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Salesforce Developer / Architect, you will lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade Salesforce solutions for Aperture’s federal government customers. You will serve as the technical authority on Salesforce solution design, driving decisions on platform architecture, data modeling, integration strategy, and security posture. You will partner closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and compliant Salesforce implementations.
This role requires deep expertise across the full Salesforce platform—including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Platform Services—as well as hands-on proficiency with Agentforce and Salesforce’s broader AI toolset. You will be expected to lead solution design sessions, mentor junior developers, establish development standards, and ensure all solutions align with federal security and compliance requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex, multi-cloud Salesforce implementations in federal environments
- Design scalable data models, security architectures, and platform configurations that meet FedRAMP and federal compliance standards
- Conduct solution design sessions and produce architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, data flow documents, and integration specifications
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Salesforce products, features, and third-party AppExchange solutions to address customer requirements
- Establish and enforce development best practices, coding standards, and governance frameworks across project teams
Development & Technical Leadership
- Architect and develop advanced custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs
- Design and implement complex integration patterns using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft), event-driven architecture, and platform events
- Configure and extend Salesforce automation using Flow, Process Builder, and approval processes for enterprise-scale workflows
- Leverage Agentforce and Salesforce AI capabilities (Einstein AI, Prompt Builder, Copilot) to build intelligent automation and AI-augmented user experiences
- Lead code reviews, establish peer review processes, and mentor junior and mid-level developers on Salesforce best practices
Platform Administration & Governance
- Manage sandbox strategy, environment planning, and release management across development, staging, and production orgs
- Drive proactive system maintenance including security reviews, release updates, health checks, and Salesforce Optimizer recommendations
- Implement and oversee data governance strategies to maintain data quality, integrity, and compliance
Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery
- Collaborate with federal agency stakeholders to understand mission-critical business processes and translate them into Salesforce solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including architecture decision records, design documents, and runbooks
- Identify underutilized platform capabilities and proactively recommend solutions to address customer pain points and improve user adoption
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DOD Top Secret Clearance or active DHS Background Investigation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification (or Platform Developer I with demonstrated architect-level experience)
- 7+ Years of total application development and technology solutions development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and the Lightning Platform
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Salesforce integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica), and event-driven patterns
- 3+ years of experience in a solution architecture or technical lead role on Salesforce projects
- 3+ years of experience supporting Salesforce implementations in a federal government or public sector environment
- Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce data modeling, security architecture, and multi-org/multi-cloud solution design
- Strong understanding of the full Salesforce ecosystem including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Platform Services
- Working knowledge of Agentforce and Salesforce AI tools including Einstein AI, Prompt Builder, and Copilot
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Technical Architect certification
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Salesforce CLI, CumulusCI, Copado, Gearset)
- Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or other enterprise integration middleware
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and other federal compliance frameworks as they relate to Salesforce deployments
- Experience implementing Salesforce Government Cloud or Salesforce Government Cloud Plus
- Hands-on experience building AI-augmented workflows using Agentforce, Einstein Bots, or Salesforce Copilot capabilities
- Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies in a federal delivery context
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring Salesforce developers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
