The Senior Scheduler is responsible for establishing and managing the project planning and scheduling framework during the start-up and mobilization phase. The role focuses on developing integrated baseline schedules, coordinating early project interfaces, supporting mobilization activities, and ensuring readiness for successful project execution in alignment with contractual and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Start-Up & Mobilization Planning

Lead the development of the integrated master schedule during the project initiation and mobilization phase.

Establish project scheduling procedures, coding structures, calendars, progress measurement systems, and reporting formats.

Develop Level 1 to Level 4 schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.

Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction teams to define execution logic and sequencing.

Support mobilization planning including site establishment, temporary facilities, manpower ramp-up, and construction readiness activities.

Prepare and monitor early works schedules, permitting milestones, utility connections, and stakeholder approvals.
Baseline Schedule Development

Develop and maintain the approved project baseline schedule in Primavera P6.

Define Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity relationships, milestones, constraints, and critical paths.

Integrate contractor, subcontractor, and vendor schedules into the master program.

Ensure alignment between EPC schedules, procurement lead times, construction priorities, and commissioning requirements.

Validate schedule assumptions, durations, productivity rates, and resource loading.
Risk & Interface Management

Identify schedule risks, constraints, and interface challenges during project initiation.

Support risk workshops and develop mitigation and contingency plans related to project timelines.

Coordinate interface schedules between engineering, procurement, civil works, utilities, and external stakeholders.

Analyze potential impacts of permitting, long-lead items, and regulatory approvals on the project timeline.
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination

Prepare start-up phase progress reports, look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and executive presentations.

Present planning status, schedule risks, and recovery recommendations to project leadership.

Participate in kick-off meetings, constructability reviews, and project readiness assessments.

Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure consistency and compliance with scheduling requirements.
Project Controls & Governance

Ensure compliance with ACWA Power project controls standards, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Support the implementation of project controls systems and document management processes.

Assist in establishing project KPIs, reporting cycles, and performance measurement systems.

Support contract administration by reviewing schedule-related contractual obligations and milestones.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Minimum 10–15 years of experience in planning and scheduling large-scale construction or EPC projects.

Strong experience in project start-up, mobilization, and baseline schedule development.
-
Experience in power generation, renewable energy, water desalination, infrastructure, or industrial projects is highly preferred.

Familiarity with EPC contracts, FIDIC conditions, and project controls methodologies.
