About the Role

We're hiring a Senior SDET to own feature-level test strategy and automation across our client engagements. You'll design and maintain automated test suites, integrate quality signals into CI/CD, and partner with engineering teams to prevent defects before they ship. This is a code-first role if your day-to-day is still click-testing in spreadsheets, this isn't the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

- Own test strategy across unit, API, UI, and end-to-end layers, aligned to Definition of Done and release criteria.

- Design and maintain automation frameworks from scratch for UI, E2E, and API coverage (REST and GraphQL).

- Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins), triage failures, and eliminate flaky tests.

- Partner with engineers and PMs during design to improve testability through contracts, logging, and observability.

- Perform root cause analysis on defects, write regression coverage, and communicate quality risks to US stakeholders.

- Run basic load and performance testing to validate enterprise-level reliability

- Mentor junior QA engineers on automation patterns and modern quality practices.

Requirements

- 4+ years in SDET / QA automation, with at least 2+ years writing automation code (not recorded scripts).

- Strong hands-on proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript (Python or Java acceptable if you adapt fast).

- Proven expertise with Playwright or Cypress. Candidates relying on manual testing or legacy Selenium-only workflows will not be a fit.

- Strong API testing experience with Postman, REST Assured, or native Playwright/Cypress capabilities.

- Working knowledge of Docker, Git, SQL, and running tests in CI/CD environments

- Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum and SDLC fundamentals.

- Excellent spoken and written English you'll be on calls with US stakeholders presenting quality metrics.

Preferred

- Exposure to testing AI- or LLM-powered features (prompt evaluation, golden datasets, RAG pipelines).

- Performance testing with K6 or JMeter.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Applitools).

- Experience with cloud tooling, containers, and observability stacks.

- Awareness of US compliance standards such as SOC 2 or ADA Accessibility.

Shift & Location

- Full-time, based in Lahore, Pakistan

- Overlapping US hours required for direct collaboration with US stakeholders

Compensation

Top-of-market PKR salary based on skills and experience. We pay competitively for senior automation talent and reward engineers who raise the quality bar.
