Job Description:
Provides customer‐site installation, servicing, training, troubleshooting, and upgrades for customers where the work
requires system ‐level knowledge and minimal oversight from others to resolve complex issues. Is accountable for
developing professional (customer‐facing) capabilities that lead to project expansion opportunities for Invensys.
1. Performsinstallation, startup and commissioning of Invensys products at the system level
2. Performs preventive and remedial maintenance on non‐company instruments and/orsystems
3. Troubleshoots complex mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and
determines the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime
4. Prepares site reports detailing product failure trends and service reliability issues
5. Develops moderately complex upgrade plans and leads upgrade projects
6. Discusses instrument and system maintenance agreement details with customers to ensure understanding
7. Consults with the customer and provides solutions for service or productivity issues
8. Identifies “out of scope” situations that require re‐contracting or additional resources to meet customer needs,
deliverables, and deadlines and works with the Project Manager or Service leadership to address them
9. Delegates tasks to Associate Service Engineers and Service Engineers to complete and monitors quality of team’s
deliverables, as well as the team’s productivity
10. Serves as a mentor and technical resource to Associate Service Engineers and Service Engineers
11. Provides guidance to Service Engineersin handling difficult customer situations
12. Disseminates and enforces organization standards (e.g., preparing test procedures, conducting FAT, SAT, updating
document and service reports) to maintain quality services
13. Identifies business development opportunities that maximize margins and revenues for Invensys and positively
impact the customer
14. Supports Salesin the proposal process, including providing technical guidance and proposal review
Qualifications:
1.Experience in Automation control industry and/or related engineering experience in disciplines such as process, chemical, mechanical, industrial, and/or electrical engineering with end‐users and/or EPCs (required)
2. Experience addressing system level issues (required)
3. Extensive experience interfacing with customers, and leading customer interactions, and dealing with difficult customer
interactions (required)
4. Work experience in a global company
