Job Description
As a Senior Site Engineer - Electrical you will be responsible for ensuring that all Electrical installations and activities on the Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and Sub station Projects meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will conduct inspections, tests, and audits to verify that the construction and installation processes are executed correctly and safely, collaborating with project managers to develop project plans and schedules, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget, and monitoring and reporting project progress to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers to develop electrical project plans and schedules, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Manage and oversee electrical activities from inception to completion.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, applicable codes and regulatory requirements to ascertain quality and safety.
- Prepare project progress reports, documentation, and as built drawings for client review and approval.
- Coordinate with site staff, engineers, and contractors to develop project plans and schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of project milestones within the allocated budget.
Electrical System Design
- Review and interpret electrical engineering drawings and specifications, providing input to optimize electrical systems and ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and regulations.
- Review site-related documents such as method statements, installation drawings, site testing procedures, decommissioning studies, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support during construction activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
- Collaborate with design teams to review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Address technical queries and provide solutions to any challenges encountered during implementation.
Installation and Testing
- Supervising the installation of electrical systems and equipment on site, conducting regular inspections to ensure quality and safety, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Perform testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including loop checks, function tests, and system performance verification.
- Document and report any non-conformances or defects and follow up on corrective actions.
- Raise NCRs (Non Compliance Reports) when non compliance is found by EPC/contractors and guide them to resolve issues to meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power generation projects.
- Experience with Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and Sub station Projects.
- Professional engineering license is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
