Role Overview
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mainframe Developer/Analyst with 3 to 4 years of IT experience, to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate needs to contribute to the maintenance, support, and enhancement of mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Application Development and Maintenance:
o Assist in developing, testing, and implementing mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SYNSORT, EZITRIEVE and VSAM.
o Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
Troubleshooting and Support:
o Collaborate with senior developers to troubleshoot application issues and perform necessary fixes.
o Provide first-level support for mainframe-related queries and issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate documentation of processes, codes, and configurations.
o Assist in preparing reports related to system performance and project status.
Continuous Learning:
o Stay updated with mainframe technologies and industry trends.
o Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
Collaboration:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, operations, and IT support.
o Participate in meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and applications.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of mainframe technologies and environments, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like z/OS is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
