Job Description Summary
Software Engineer will lead technical development and delivery at Team and sometimes Lab level. They can be a Line Manager who will act as co-lead with the Team PO for overall delivery. In these cases, they will be responsible for overall tech delivery, line management & app ownership alongside their own software engineering output.. Others will operate as Individual Contributors, who are specialists in particular technology areas and will be narrower and deeper in focus.

    What you’ll do:
    • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of custom solutions within the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and design specifications.
    • Implementation planning implementation execution.
    • Supporting and helping build knowledge of subordinate engineers.
    • Developing integrations between other systems, such as Workday, Microsoft Azure hosted application etc…
    • Handling of sensitive data both in flight and at rest.
    • Contributing to the building of Agile Epics and Features, and building/maintaining Stories in Jira.
    • Using Confluence for production of technical documentation.
    • Supporting BAU queries and leading the analysis and resolution of production incidents.
    • Composing and maintaining technical documentation.
    • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities to ensure the quality and reliability of developed solutions.
    • Assisting with platform upgrades (processing skipped records and regression testing).
    • Keeping up to date with the latest ServiceNow platform developments and improvements.
    • Leading the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

    What you’ll need:

    Requirements:

    Proven experience as a ServiceNow software engineer, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Employee Portal, Virtual Agent and HR Service Delivery.
    Strong proficiency in ServiceNow technologies, including JavaScript Development, Business Rules, Flow Designer, UI policies and Document Transformation
    Strong awareness of system and Integration Security.
    Extensive knowledge of integration technologies and protocols such as SOAP, REST, XML, and XSLT.
    Good awareness of wider ServiceNow ecosystem and functional modules.
    A strong awareness and understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLM’s) and automation
    Ability to architect complex solutions, considering scalability, performance, and security requirements.
    Strong ability to act as Subject Matter Expert on systems and collaboration with key business customer.
    Strong ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
    Good awareness of the ServiceNow roadmap and new features.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex business processes and requirements.
    Strong ability to support and mentor junior roles.
    Strong awareness & understanding of Database design & manipulation.
    Strong leadership experience.
    Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    ServiceNow certifications and experience with agile development methodologies are preferred.
