Description

Job Purpose:
Responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and maintaining healthcare software solutions that support clinical, operational, and administrative functions within the hospital. The role ensures software systems are secure, efficient, scalable, and aligned with Saudi healthcare regulations and hospital objectives to enhance patient care, operational workflows, and digital transformation initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures
  • Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Align IT DevOps strategies with MOH eHealth initiatives, Vision 2030 digital healthcare goals, and CBAHI/JCI accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure operational excellence in IT systems to enhance hospital performance, patient safety, and service availability.
  • Implement IT quality assurance frameworks, policies, and procedures across all IT services.
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions including custom modules for EMR/HIS, clinical workflows, patient portals, and hospital administrative systems.
  • Follow secure coding standards and ensure adherence to hospital software architecture guidelines.
  • Participate in system integration efforts, API development, and interoperability projects.
  • Customize existing healthcare applications to address hospital-specific operational needs.
  • Optimize application performance, reduce system response time, and ensure scalability of hospital applications.
  • Provide advanced technical solutions for legacy system modernization when needed.
  • Guide junior software developers and provide technical mentorship.
  • Lead code reviews, enforce code quality standards, and facilitate technical best practices.
  • Contribute to technology selection decisions and software architecture discussions.
  • Write unit tests, participate in system integration testing, and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure defect-free application delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital services.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, software manuals, and system operation guides.
  • Ensure change management processes are followed with appropriate documentation for all releases.
  • Support IT compliance requirements for CBAHI, JCI, and MOH reporting standards.
Requirements

5–7 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in healthcare or enterprise environments.

Proven experience with healthcare IT systems (EMR, HIS, LIS, RIS, ERP) is an advantage.

Experience with system integration (APIs, HL7, FHIR) and interoperability in healthcare settings.

Knowledge of Saudi MOH, CBAHI, and JCI IT-related requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
