Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, modernization, and ongoing evolution of Skyplan’s enterprise-grade web applications. The successful candidate will bring at least 10 years of professional experience in Enterprise SaaS environments, with deep expertise across modern frontend frameworks, PHP-based backend systems, and scalable web architectures deployed in Linux production environments. This role requires a senior engineer who is deeply hands on, highly effective at debugging and problem-solving, and capable of contributing both strategically and practically. The Senior Software Engineer plays an integral role in shaping technical direction while ensuring the platform meets enterprise expectations for performance, security, reliability, and longterm maintainability

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support complex web applications in production environments

 Lead modernization efforts, including refactoring and improving legacy PHP systems and Python components into modular, scalable architectures

 Build and support responsive, high-quality user interfaces using React, Vue.js, and Angular

 Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and business logic using PHP and modern frameworks such as Laravel  Support and evolve CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and production stability

 Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, enterprise-ready solutions

 Ensure applications consistently meet standards for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability

 Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical planning

 Review code, mentor team members, and promote sound engineering practices across the team

 Evaluate and integrate practical AI-driven functionality where appropriate and beneficial

Required Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
 Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Enterprise SaaS environments
 Strong, hands on experience with Angular, React, and/or Vue.js in Linux production settings  Strong backend development experience using PHP; Python experience is a plus
 Experience with modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel
 Strong knowledge of JavaScript and preferably TypeScript
 Experience building and integrating RESTful and service-oriented applications
 Security awareness, including identity and access management in Debian and/or comparable flavors of Linux
 Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
 Experience with authentication, authorization, secure development practices, and application lifecycle management  Experience with Git, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows  Ability to work effectively across both mature systems and modern application stacks
