To maintain a competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a new "Senior Specialist – Disaster Recovery (DR)"
Job purpose:
The Senior Specialist Disaster Recovery (DR) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities across hybrid infrastructure environments, including cloud and on‑premises platforms. The role ensures that critical systems hosted on AWS Outposts, AWS Cloud, and Nutanix HCI remain recoverable in the event of outages, disasters, or cyber incidents.
This position requires strong technical expertise in disaster recovery architecture, combined with project management (PMO) capabilities to plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery initiatives, testing programs, and cross‑team recovery exercises.
Responsibilities:
Disaster Recovery Strategy & Planning

Design and maintain enterprise Disaster Recovery (DR) frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with business continuity requirements.

Define and maintain RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) for critical systems.

Develop DR strategies for hybrid infrastructure environments including AWS Outposts, AWS Cloud, and Nutanix HCI.

Identify critical infrastructure components and dependencies across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
DR Architecture & Implementation
-
Implement disaster recovery solutions for cloud workloads in AWS environments.

Implement DR solutions for hybrid deployments using AWS Outposts.

Implement DR solutions for on‑premises infrastructure hosted on Nutanix HCI.
-
Design and manage replication, backup, and failover mechanisms.
-
Ensure high availability and redundancy for mission‑critical infrastructure.
DR Testing & Simulation
-
Plan and execute regular disaster recovery drills and failover simulations.
-
Conduct DR testing for infrastructure, applications, and databases.
-
Document test results, identify gaps, and implement remediation plans.
-
Coordinate large‑scale DR simulation exercises with infrastructure, application, and business teams.

Manage disaster recovery initiatives as structured projects following PMO methodologies.

Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and risk registers.
-
Track project progress, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment.

Lead DR improvement initiatives, technology upgrades, and resiliency programs.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
-
Act as the central coordination point between infrastructure, application, security, and business teams during DR planning and testing.

Work closely with system administrators, cloud teams, network engineers, and application owners.

Coordinate with external vendors and cloud providers when required.

Communicate DR readiness status and project updates to management.
Risk & Compliance

Conduct disaster recovery risk assessments and identify potential infrastructure vulnerabilities.

Ensure DR processes comply with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.

Maintain DR documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures.
Incident Response Support
-
Participate in major incident management and disaster scenarios.
-
Lead infrastructure recovery coordination during real disaster events.

Ensure post‑incident reviews and lessons learned are documented.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, or disaster recovery roles

Experience managing enterprise‑level disaster recovery programs
Required Technical Skills
Hybrid Infrastructure

Strong understanding of AWS Cloud architecture

Experience with AWS Outposts hybrid infrastructure

Familiarity with cloud disaster recovery strategies and cross‑region failover
Virtualization & HCI
-
Experience managing DR strategies for Nutanix HCI environments

Knowledge of virtual machine replication, snapshot management, and failover planning
Infrastructure Platforms

Understanding of enterprise infrastructure components including virtual machines, storage systems, network dependencies, and identity services
Backup & Recovery
-
Experience with backup and replication technologies

Knowledge of data protection, recovery workflows, and restore validation
Project Management & Coordination
-
Strong project management and PMO experience
-
Ability to manage multi‑team infrastructure projects

Strong stakeholder coordination and communication
-
Experience executing DR exercises involving multiple teams
Preferred Certifications

Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity certifications
