Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Storage & Backup Engineer with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across multi-vendor environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong hands-on background in SAN, NAS, object storage, software-defined storage, and data protection technologies, supporting mission-critical workloads, including HPC and AI/ML environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise SAN, NAS, object storage, and software-defined storage platforms.
• Administer Dell EMC PowerScale environments, including OneFS, SmartPools, SmartQuotas, SyncIQ, and multi-protocol access services.
• Implement and support scalable object storage solutions using Dell EMC ECS and MinIO.
• Configure and optimize Dell EMC Data Domain environments, including deduplication, replication, and DDBoost integration.
• Manage and optimize Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade platforms for high-performance workloads.
• Design and support DDN storage solutions for HPC, AI, and data-intensive environments.
• Deploy and maintain Lustre and Ceph clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Integrate storage solutions with VMware vSphere and SRM, supporting replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Monitor storage performance, capacity utilization, throughput, latency, and system health.
• Develop and implement backup, replication, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate operational tasks and optimize storage management processes through scripting and orchestration tools.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex storage and data protection issues.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery environments.
• Proven expertise across multiple storage vendors and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of traditional, software-defined, and distributed storage architectures.
• Experience supporting large-scale, high-performance workloads, including HPC, AI, and analytics platforms.
• Deep understanding of data protection, replication, business continuity, and disaster recovery frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities in Arabic and English.
