Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards and comply with relevant regulations. This position requires a strong foundation in quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and supplier management. The Supplier Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes for supplier evaluation and selection.
- Conduct audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949:2016, and other relevant standards.
- Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve quality issues within the supply chain.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions and preventive measures based on findings from audits and inspections.
- Manage the approval process for new suppliers through APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Analyze data using Minitab to monitor supplier performance metrics and drive improvements.
- Ensure adherence to FDA regulations and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) in all supplier-related activities.
- Engage in lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize processes within the supply chain.
- Provide mechanical knowledge support during sourcing and assembly processes to enhance product quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in quality control, quality assurance, or quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is preferred.
- Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and process engineering methodologies.
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using AS400 or similar systems for managing supplier data is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and sourcing departments.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement practices.
