Senior Support Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT support team. The ideal candidate will provide expert-level support and manage complex infrastructure and escalations. Be a focal point for the team providing guidance and upskilling where possible. When not actively tackling escalations and helpdesk team support, project work and pre-sales tasks will be a key part of the role. An independent, self-driven, and a problem-solving attitude is a must. Tried and tested investigation and solutions architect skills desirable.

Duties

· Good soft skills and customer-facing skills

· Resolve high-level incidents and VIP user issues.

· Be able to design, implement and maintain infrastructure solutions

· Own, manage and deliver projects

· Manage and maintain servers and cloud platforms

· Troubleshoot/provide client support to a wide range of applications and services – utilizing manufacturer support and independent investigative skills.

· Lead escalations

· Mentor junior staff

· Presales discussions with account managers, providing information and strategic guidance.

· Act as escalation point for 1st line support tickets, providing guidance or ownership of tickets as needed.

· Diagnose and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues

· Manage user accounts (Active Directory, MS365)

· Support endpoint devices

· Assist with system upgrades and patching

· Liaise with vendors

· -Customer on site visit nationwide for meetings and technical works

· -Will involve out of hours work and projects occasionally.

Technical Skills

· Windows Server (Linux desirable)

· Azure (AWS Desirable)

· VMware / Hyper-V

· Strong familiarity with Networking in business environments

· Microsoft 365 architecture and systems

· PowerShell and CMD scripting

· Microsoft Technical Certifications Desirable

· Modern Windows Desktop and Server OS

· Active Directory / Entra AD / Azure

· Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Teams and related services.

· Networking fundamentals, rudimentary Switch and firewall management.

· Intune / Autopilot and Power Platform Familiarity Desirable.

· Microsoft PXE boot / imaging workflow familiarity desirable

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
