Senior System Administrator

1. Job Purpose

• To implement and manage Information Technology (IT) infrastructure devices, troubleshoot servers, messaging services, and employee computers.

2. Primary Duties Performed

• Assist in managing IT governance processes and ensure the IT investments and assets are safeguarded, managed and accounted for;

• Monitor all IT policies and procedures, computing standards, corporate data, proprietary information and intellectual property are identified, benchmarked, protected and catalogued;

• Monitor all Servers and IT Systems and Services that are running related to the IT Infrastructure and Cloud management. Ensure all are running optimally with no major errors while allowing best mechanism of monitoring of all running systems;

• Follow the best industry practice in batch management while allowing all the systems to be regularly updated with the latest approved batches by the Systems providers.

• Assist in implementation of the IT strategies, policies and procedures;

• Prepare the documentation for the IT infrastructure;

• Prioritize the development and implementation of the IT infrastructure and cloud projects;

• Identify new IT products and oversee IT related procurement management and vendor management;

• Manage the access rights to all relevant Infrastructure systems and servers;

• Manage and maintain the administration of the incident logs and track accordingly;

• Renew the contracts under network and infrastructure by checking with vendors and reviewing the contracts with the Management;

• Perform a restored data task periodically to ensure the consistency of the backup data and integration;

• Assist in controlling IT related risk by advising management and functional units on all IT policies and procedures;

• Ensure the confidentiality and protection of corporate data, proprietary information and intellectual property;

• Manage crisis situations, involving complex technical hardware or software problems and ensure adequate provision for business continuity and disaster recovery;

• Maintain all departmental technology requirements including hardware, support and infrastructure needs are met on time;

• Solicit, study and evaluate vendor proposals to obtain competitive prices and ensure cost effectiveness, in addition, identify and develop new vendors and supervise vendor management for the department;

• Execute the projects and budgets supporting the delivery of IT projects;

• Undertake such other tasks as and when required by the Chief Technology Officer.

4. Independence of Operation

• Data access, security and integration;

• Reduction in IT related risks, disaster recovery plan; and

• Coordinate with the department employees to provide the necessary service to the Group employees.

5. Responsibility of generation and / or management of income / assets / expenditure

• Responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and appropriate disposal of all technology assets.

6. Qualifications and Experience Required

• Degree in IT related discipline Computer Science or equivalent and additional professional technical training/certifications in System Administration;

• Certification in Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, and hands-on experience associated with backup, raid platforms and storage systems;

• Minimum 12 years of IT experience in Windows System Administration, Backup Solutions, Cisco Networking, and IP Telephony;

• Demonstrate knowledge of security standards and their applications;

• Exposure with the latest technology and research background will be an added advantage;

• Good project management skills

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Arabic language is an advantage;

• Excellent organizational and time management skills; and

• Good interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED13,000.00 per month
