Key ResponsibilitiesActive Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Support, maintain, and monitor the health of the Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP services, including replication, zone configurations, and IP address management.
- Implement Group Policies (GPOs), domain controller deployments, and schema updates as needed.
Microsoft Exchange & Messaging
- Design, implement, and administer Microsoft Exchange environments (on-premises and/or hybrid).
- Provide Tier 3 support for messaging, mail flow, security, and performance issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, migrations, patches, and service pack installations.
- Ensure messaging systems meet compliance, backup, and retention requirements.
Lync / Skype for Business / Unified Communications
- Support and troubleshoot Lync/Skype for Business environments, including voice, conferencing, presence, and integration with Exchange and AD.
- Monitor system health and performance, ensuring reliable unified communications services.
Systems Maintenance & Security
- Perform routine network/system maintenance including applying patches, hotfixes, service packs, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
- Implement and enforce security configurations to meet compliance and best practice standards.
- Develop documentation for system configurations, processes, and change management.
Integration & Identity Services
- Provide LDAP and identity integration services for application teams leveraging Active Directory as the authentication/authorization source.
- Collaborate with application owners to ensure secure and proper connection using AD, ADFS, or other identity providers.
Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Analyze performance data and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
Tier 3 Support & Leadership
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues across the enterprise.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and support teams.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, roadmap planning, and infrastructure strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5–10+ years of experience supporting Microsoft enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in Active Directory, Exchange, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server technologies.
- Experience with Lync/Skype for Business, LDAP integrations, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, firewall rules, certificates, and security best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
