Senior System Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain ICT infrastructure supporting sports facilities and large-scale venues, ensuring high availability during mega events and normal operations.
  • Manage and administer hybrid infrastructure including Active Directory, Windows Servers, Azure Cloud, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Dell VxRail, NSX, storage, networking, and backup systems.
  • Oversee Azure cloud services including virtual networks, compute, storage, identity (Entra ID), and hybrid integrations.
  • Manage hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) environments and ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patch management, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including RFP preparation, vendor evaluation, system migrations, and technical documentation.
  • Provide advanced L2/L3 technical support for escalated incidents, ensuring timely resolution of complex infrastructure issues.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage CCTV and surveillance infrastructure ensuring reliable storage, access, and availability of video systems.
  • Coordinate incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes and workarounds for critical incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure service continuity and operational excellence.
  • Support high-pressure, time-sensitive operations in sports and event environments.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure/system engineering within hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365 / Exchange Online
  • VMware (vSphere, vCenter), Hyper-V (optional), and HCI (preferably Dell VxRail)
  • Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid services (Azure Arc, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor)
  • Enterprise storage (SAN/NAS, e.g., Dell EMC), networking, and backup solutions
  • Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration
  • Experience managing SSL certificates, licensing, and enterprise infrastructure services.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, with experience in incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Proven ability to work in high-availability, mission-critical environments (sports/event industry experience is a plus).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Certifications (preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer (or equivalent cloud certification)
  • Linux+ or equivalent systems engineering certifications
