Senior System Engineer (UNIX)

Job purpose:

Responsible for the automation of the infrastructure; build processes; and maintain operating systems from administration and configuration perspective. Responsible for virtualization and containerization concepts.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Work on request for proposals and design infrastructure proposals
• Create; maintain; and support infrastructure for ITWorx customers.
• Lead and manage large and complex projects starting from customer communication until delivery
• Provide consultancy for DevOps implementation
• Act as a technical subject matter expert by providing additional support and consultancy to customers
• Provide infrastructure automation solutions to improve the efficiency of different operations
• Research and learn new technologies and stay aligned with the market trends and competition
• Report project status and updates after completion internally and externally.
• Provide solutions for applications and infrastructure
• Continuously optimize costs for the cloud
• Coach; mentor; and provide technical support to other team members
• Provide time estimates of tasks for junior and senior team members
• Assist with the allocation of team members and assigning them to different projects based on their expertise
• Identify current enhancement opportunities and better solutions internally or externally as well as capture future business opportunities
• Build an internal and external cybersecurity mindset and continuously ensure the best security practices and measures are applied in place

Must have professional qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or communication and electronics
• 2 + years of experience as a system engineer
• Automation (software and infrastructure) experience is a MUST
• Cloud certification
