Senior Tax Preparer/Accountant

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience

Job Type: Part-Time (20-30 Hours per Week Initially) with Potential for Full-Time Growth

About Us

LSM CPA Firm, P.A. is a growing CPA firm providing tax, accounting, audit, advisory, and compliance services to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and financial institutions. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer / Accountant to support our expanding client base and assist with tax preparation, accounting, and client service functions.

This position offers flexibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to work directly with an experienced CPA in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns
• Prepare and review bookkeeping and accounting records
• Assist with financial statement preparation
• Perform account reconciliations and month-end procedures
• Assist with tax planning and tax research projects
• Communicate with clients regarding tax documents and information requests
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices
• Assist with payroll tax, sales tax, and business filings
• Support audit and assurance engagements as needed
• Maintain accurate client files and documentation

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of tax preparation and/or public accounting experience
• Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency with QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA candidate or CPA license
• Experience working in a CPA firm environment
• Experience with tax software and practice management systems
• Experience with financial statement preparation and review
