Senior Tax Accountant (Part-Time Only)

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare tax returns for our company to include individual, S Corporation, C Corporation and Partnership returns. To succeed in this role, you should also have business client experience to include financial review and account reconciliation of client Quickbooks Online accounts. Excellent time management skills are essential, as you’ll have to ensure our company meets tight deadlines. Tax Accountant responsibilities include analysis and maintenance of client accounting records. Ultimately, you should be able to recommend tax and accounting strategies for client success. Accuracy, exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail is a must as well as CPA firm experience. As a key contributor, you will work closely with our team to ensure accurate financial and tax reporting while adhering to regulatory standards. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for mid-sized business clients
• Review balance sheet and request client source documents to ensure the balances reported accurately reflect the financial position of the client's company
• Reconcile and determine disposition for reconciling items for client bank, asset, liability and owner's equity accounts; prepare monthly and year-end adjusting entries as required
• Review and analyze client profit and Loss statements for accuracy; prepare adjusting entries as needed
• Determine additional information needed from client to prepare and finalize the income tax return
• Prepare work papers to support completed tax returns and accounting adjusting entries
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients both verbally and written
• Complete quarterly and annual payroll tax reports
• Reconcile payroll reports to confirm payroll is accurately reported on the tax return
• Recommend tax strategies for client success
• Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits to business clients
• Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
• Tax research

Skills

• Previous experience in public taxation (five years)
• Strong knowledge in tax law
• Expert in preparing business returns to include S Corporations, C Corporations and partnership.
• Expert in preparing Schedule C and Schedule E forms
• Expert in Quickbooks Online (Required)
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Must be self driven and have the ability to take initiative to manage and maintain client accounts while working independently
• Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Expert knowledge with accounting software packages (Quickbooks required)
• Computer literacy (MS Excel, Microsoft Office in particular)
• ProConnect Professional tax software familiarity
• TaxDome client management software preferred
• Excellent analytical and time management skills
• Keen attention to detail
• BS/BA degree in Accounting required; industry certification (CPA or EA) is preferred
