Job Summary

The BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across telecom business functions such as network operations, customer experience, billing, and revenue management. The role requires a deep understanding of data modelling, ETL pipelines, and visualization tools, combined with telecom domain expertise.


Key Responsibilities

BI Solution Development:

  • Design and build dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions for telecom KPIs (e.g., ARPU, churn, network uptime, call volumes, usage metrics).

  • Data Modelling:
    Develop and optimize semantic models for different telecom domains — OSS, BSS, CRM, billing, and network performance data.

  • ETL/ELT Pipelines:
    Design, implement, and maintain data ingestion and transformation workflows using tools like Informatica, Talend, Dataflow, or dbt.

  • Visualization and Reporting:
    Develop BI dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to support business users and senior management.

  • Data Governance and Quality:
    Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with telecom regulatory standards.

  • Performance Optimization:
    Optimize queries, reports, and dashboards for performance and scalability across large telecom data volumes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work with data engineers, data analysts, business teams (Finance, Network, Marketing, and Customer Care) to understand requirements and translate them into BI solutions.

  • Telecom KPIs and Insights:
    Deliver insights into subscriber growth, network utilization, product profitability, and customer segmentation.

  • Automation and Best Practices:
    Implement reusable components, templates, and data quality checks for BI automation.


Required Skills & Experience


  • Technical Skills:


    • Strong in SQL, data modelling, and relational database design (Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)

    • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, ADF, dbt, etc.)

    • Strong visualization experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker

    • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS)

    • Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation and data manipulation

    • Experience in version control (Git) and CI/CD for BI solutions

  • Domain Knowledge:


    • Understanding of telecom OSS/BSS systems, subscriber lifecycle, billing data, and network performance metrics

    • Knowledge of telecom KPIs, customer analytics, and churn prediction

    • Exposure to data from mediation systems, CRM, or CDRs (Call Detail Records)

  • Soft Skills:


    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

    • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
