Job Summary
The BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across telecom business functions such as network operations, customer experience, billing, and revenue management. The role requires a deep understanding of data modelling, ETL pipelines, and visualization tools, combined with telecom domain expertise.
Key Responsibilities
BI Solution Development:
Design and build dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions for telecom KPIs (e.g., ARPU, churn, network uptime, call volumes, usage metrics).
Data Modelling:
Develop and optimize semantic models for different telecom domains — OSS, BSS, CRM, billing, and network performance data.
ETL/ELT Pipelines:
Design, implement, and maintain data ingestion and transformation workflows using tools like Informatica, Talend, Dataflow, or dbt.
Visualization and Reporting:
Develop BI dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to support business users and senior management.
Data Governance and Quality:
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with telecom regulatory standards.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize queries, reports, and dashboards for performance and scalability across large telecom data volumes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with data engineers, data analysts, business teams (Finance, Network, Marketing, and Customer Care) to understand requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
Telecom KPIs and Insights:
Deliver insights into subscriber growth, network utilization, product profitability, and customer segmentation.
Automation and Best Practices:
Implement reusable components, templates, and data quality checks for BI automation.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills:
Strong in SQL, data modelling, and relational database design (Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)
Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, ADF, dbt, etc.)
Strong visualization experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
Knowledge of cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS)
Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation and data manipulation
Experience in version control (Git) and CI/CD for BI solutions
Domain Knowledge:
Understanding of telecom OSS/BSS systems, subscriber lifecycle, billing data, and network performance metrics
Knowledge of telecom KPIs, customer analytics, and churn prediction
Exposure to data from mediation systems, CRM, or CDRs (Call Detail Records)
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
