ABOUT DASH.FI

Dash.fi Technologies, Inc. is a Mastercard-powered financial technology platform purpose-built for digital advertisers, e-commerce brands, and performance marketing businesses. We provide high-limit commercial credit cards, flexible payment solutions, and intelligent spend management tools that enable our clients to scale ad budgets and operating velocity without the constraints of traditional banking.

At Dash.fi, underwriting is not a support function — it is a core product capability. Our credit decisions directly shape the portfolio, the client experience, and the company’s financial performance. The Senior Underwriter is one of the most consequential roles in the organization: the person who sets the analytical bar, builds the credit framework, mentors junior talent, and advises leadership on portfolio risk at the intersection of fintech innovation and disciplined credit management.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Underwriter is Dash.fi’s lead credit decision-maker. This individual owns the full underwriting lifecycle — from initial application analysis and credit structuring through ongoing portfolio risk management — and serves as the primary subject matter expert on creditworthiness, credit policy, and risk appetite for the organization.

This role goes well beyond reviewing individual applications. The Senior Underwriter is expected to build and refine credit infrastructure, develop and maintain underwriting policy, mentor junior underwriters, identify emerging portfolio risk trends, and serve as a key advisor to Product, Sales, and Executive leadership on credit strategy. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability position suited to a credit professional who is ready to own an underwriting function at a rapidly scaling fintech.

The ideal candidate brings deep commercial credit experience, strong financial analysis skills, proven judgment on complex credit structures, and the leadership presence to drive quality across the team. Prior experience in fintech, commercial card programs, or e-commerce lending is highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Senior-Level Credit Decisioning & Structuring

  • Serve as the final decision-maker for all complex, high-value, and escalated credit applications within delegated authority.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of applicant businesses including multi-year revenue trends, cash flow modeling, debt service coverage, working capital adequacy, and profitability assessment.
  • Analyze business and personal credit bureau reports, financial statements, bank statements, tax returns, and third-party data sources to form a holistic view of creditworthiness.
  • Structure credit facilities including appropriate credit limits, payment terms, security requirements, and any conditions or covenants appropriate to the risk profile.
  • Develop and apply credit overlays for industry-specific risk factors unique to digital advertising, e-commerce, and performance marketing businesses (e.g., platform dependency, seasonality, ROAS volatility).
  • Evaluate and approve or deny Junior Underwriter-reviewed applications; provide written rationale for all override decisions.
  • Maintain a clear and consistent credit philosophy that balances growth enablement with portfolio quality.

2. Credit Policy Development & Governance

  • Own, maintain, and continuously refine Dash.fi’s credit underwriting policy and guidelines.
  • Develop risk-tiered credit frameworks, scoring matrices, and decision trees that enable consistent, scalable, and defensible credit decisions.
  • Define and document minimum credit standards, maximum exposure thresholds, and concentration limits by vertical, revenue tier, and business profile.
  • Partner with the VP of Risk / CRO to establish and formally review the Company’s credit risk appetite on a regular cadence.
  • Ensure all credit policies and procedures comply with applicable regulatory requirements including ECOA, FCRA, BSA/AML, and Mastercard network rules.
  • Lead periodic credit policy review cycles; present proposed amendments and rationale to leadership for approval.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting procedure documentation suitable for regulatory examination, investor due diligence, and internal audit review.

3. Portfolio Risk Monitoring & Management

  • Own ongoing monitoring of the active commercial card portfolio for delinquency trends, utilization patterns, payment behavior, and early warning signals.
  • Lead periodic credit line review cycles: identify accounts for limit increases, decreases, or suspension based on updated financial data and performance history.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio risk dashboards and reporting metrics for leadership review including approval rates, average credit limits, delinquency rates, loss rates, and cohort performance.
  • Identify and respond to emerging concentration risk, vertical-specific risk events, or macroeconomic developments that may affect portfolio quality.
  • Manage accounts in workout or collections coordination, interfacing with Operations and external counsel as appropriate.
  • Lead fraud pattern identification efforts; develop detection triggers and escalation protocols for suspected fraudulent account activity.
  • Conduct vintage and cohort analysis to assess predictive accuracy of underwriting criteria and recommend model or criteria adjustments.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Serve as the primary mentor and quality reviewer for Junior Underwriter(s), providing case-level feedback, skills coaching, and career development guidance.
  • Review and provide written feedback on Junior Underwriter credit decisions and documentation; conduct formal quality assurance reviews on a defined cadence.
  • Develop training materials, case studies, and underwriting playbooks to build team-wide credit analysis capability.
  • Establish and maintain underwriting SLAs for application turnaround time, ensuring the team meets service commitments to Sales and Operations.
  • Identify staffing, tooling, or process gaps and present recommendations to leadership for resolution.
  • Foster a team culture of analytical rigor, intellectual honesty, documentation discipline, and continuous improvement.

5. Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary Risk & Credit representative in cross-functional conversations with Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Executive leadership.
  • Advise the Sales team on credit structuring strategies for prospective accounts; provide pre-qualification guidance and communicate credit decisions with appropriate context.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define requirements for credit decisioning systems, bureau integrations, data automation, and AI/ML-assisted underwriting tools.
  • Contribute to investor due diligence processes by preparing credit portfolio documentation, loss methodology explanations, and underwriting policy summaries.
  • Support capital markets or lending facility conversations by providing portfolio quality data, underwriting standards documentation, and risk narrative.
  • Represent Dash.fi’s credit function in regulatory, banking partner, and Mastercard network compliance reviews as required.

  • Expert-level proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit bureau interpretation (business and personal).
