Senior Video Editor & Designer

TMD is a fast-paced digital marketing agency based in NYC and the leading agency for renowned authors and thought leaders. We are seeking a highly experienced, multidisciplinary Senior Video Editor & Multimedia Producer to join our team.

This is not a traditional editing role. We are looking for a creative leader in post-production — someone who combines cinematic editing instincts with strong motion graphics, VFX, design sensibility, and fluency in emerging AI-powered creative tools.

This role will begin as a contractor position, with the opportunity to transition to full-time depending on performance and workload.

IMPORTANT: Applications that don't include an online portfolio will not be considered.

About the Role

You will play a key role in shaping the visual language of our clients’ brands across digital platforms. You are as comfortable executing quick-turn social content as you are crafting elevated, design-forward video pieces.

You understand that today’s video editor is also a designer, animator, strategist, and systems thinker.

You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and creative team to bring high-level concepts to life while maintaining efficiency, organization, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the post-production process across multiple campaigns and brands
• Edit compelling video content for organic social, paid digital, and web platforms
• Design and execute motion graphics, animated typography, and light VFX
• Resize and adapt content across all digital formats and ad products
• Rapidly produce high-quality video assets for real-time and reactive moments
• Ideate creative and strategic video concepts in collaboration with the Creative Director
• Integrate AI tools into workflows (AI-assisted editing, generative visuals, upscaling, captioning, audio cleanup, etc.) to increase creative output and efficiency
• Manage and organize footage, project files, deliverables, and asset libraries
• Collaborate on pre-production planning and support production shoots as needed throughout the country
• Maintain visual consistency and a high design standard across all outputs

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in video editing and post-production (agency experience strongly preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, design, or related field
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop (Final Cut Pro a plus)
• Strong motion graphics and animation skills
• Experience with light VFX and compositing
• Strong design sensibility (typography, pacing, composition, branding)
• Experience leveraging AI tools within creative workflows
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders with professionalism
• Exceptional organizational skills and file management discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A striking, sophisticated, and versatile portfolio/reel that demonstrates both storytelling and design-driven work

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
