Senior VMware and Linux Engineer

Job Overview:

Infra Assure is seeking a seasoned and highly capable Senior VMware and Linux Consultant for a 6-month engagement in Abu Dhabi. This role demands an expert-level professional who can independently manage, troubleshoot, and optimize complex virtualized and Linux-based environments. The consultant will play a critical role in ensuring infrastructure stability, performance, and security across multiple systems, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines
• Oversee Linux server administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu), ensuring high availability and performance
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and patching strategies
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and system audits
• Automate operational tasks using scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with internal teams to align infrastructure with business needs
• Document configurations, procedures, and recommendations for long-term sustainability

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in VMware and Linux environments
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver results under tight timelines
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, storage, networking, and security best practices
• Experience with automation and monitoring tools
• Relevant certifications (VCP, RHCE, etc.) preferred
• Must be available to work on-site in Abu Dhabi for the duration of the contract
• Candidates must be available locally in the UAE and hold their own valid visa
