Senior Website Designer / Project Manager

Job Description

• Leads the design and delivery of complex, high-visibility web initiatives for NSF OLPA.
• Designs user-centered, accessible webpage layouts aligned with NSF branding and federal standards.
• Provides project management oversight for web tasks, including schedules, priorities, and coordination across roles.
• Advises NSF staff on web design best practices, accessibility, and content presentation.
• Ensures compliance with Section 508/WCAG, U.S. Web Design System, and federal plain-language requirements.
• Manages stakeholder requirements, resolves competing priorities, and ensures quality outcomes.
• Supports large updates, special initiatives, and cross-functional digital projects.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in web design and development.
• At least 5 years leading web projects or managing web-focused teams.
• Advanced experience with Drupal CMS layouts and publishing workflows.
• Demonstrated expertise in accessibility-compliant, user-centered design.
• Experience advising stakeholders in federal environments preferred.
