Senior Website Designer / Project Manager
Job Description
- Leads the design and delivery of complex, high-visibility web initiatives for NSF OLPA.
- Designs user-centered, accessible webpage layouts aligned with NSF branding and federal standards.
- Provides project management oversight for web tasks, including schedules, priorities, and coordination across roles.
- Advises NSF staff on web design best practices, accessibility, and content presentation.
- Ensures compliance with Section 508/WCAG, U.S. Web Design System, and federal plain-language requirements.
- Manages stakeholder requirements, resolves competing priorities, and ensures quality outcomes.
- Supports large updates, special initiatives, and cross-functional digital projects.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience / Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in web design and development.
- At least 5 years leading web projects or managing web-focused teams.
- Advanced experience with Drupal CMS layouts and publishing workflows.
- Demonstrated expertise in accessibility-compliant, user-centered design.
- Experience advising stakeholders in federal environments preferred.
