Senior Welding and Painting Quality Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior Quality Engineer – Welding & Painting Processes


What you’ll do:

The Senior Quality Engineer for Welding & Painting Processes is responsible for overseeing all quality-related activities within the welding and paintshop areas of our transformer production plant in Ankara Temelli. This role leads the quality team in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with design specifications, WPS, and TS EN 12944 standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The position plays a key role in meeting customer expectations, achieving quality KPIs, and supporting strategic goals through effective leadership, resource management, and performance monitoring.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage the welding and painting quality team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) by preparing, executing, reviewing, and controlling relevant processes.
  • Monitor and report monthly quality metrics (e.g., FPY %, audit results, maintenance, action closure rate) and initiate corrective actions when targets are not met.
  • Conduct and review process audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage calibration and control of measurement devices used across the value chain.
  • Oversee quality control processes to detect and address deviations from standards and work instructions.
  • Ensure documentation, policies, and procedures are in place to support consistent and professional operations.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental, environmental, labor, and financial regulations.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members to assess strengths and development needs, and implement tailored training plans.
  • Promote a culture of ethical behavior and safety, ensuring full implementation of EHS rules in the test laboratory.
  • Support the development and refinement of quality control processes in line with customer specifications and industry standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding and painting processes within a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of WPS and welding standards (TIG and MAG welding).
  • Strong command of quality tools: PFMEA, SPC, MSA.
  • Familiarity with TS EN 12944 paint standards.
  • Experience with NDT methods (VT, PT, MT); Level-2 certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in painting control techniques (e.g., Cross Hatch, Holiday Test, Salt Spray Test).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
