The Senior Workshop Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of a large mixed fleet operating in ADNOC and oil and gas sites. The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, compliance with ADNOC and Civil Defence requirements, and ensuring high fleet availability with controlled maintenance costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage workshop operations for a fleet, including light vehicles, heavy buses, diesel tankers, water tankers, sewage tankers, cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs are planned, implemented, and monitored to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues related to vehicles, buses, cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment operating at ADNOC and oil and gas sites comply with ADNOC maintenance standards, HSE requirements, and site-specific procedures.
- Maintain strong coordination with operations, HSE, and site teams to ensure fleet readiness and availability as per client requirements.
- Oversee crane maintenance activities, including inspections, load testing coordination, certification validity, and compliance with ADNOC and third-party requirements.
- Manage maintenance of heavy buses used for manpower transportation, ensuring safety, reliability, and passenger comfort.
- Ensure diesel, water, and sewage tankers comply with Civil Defence requirements, including approvals, certifications, firefighting systems, and inspection schedules.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs such as breakdown trends, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost per vehicle, and workshop productivity.
- Control spare parts inventory, maintenance tools, and consumables to avoid shortages and unnecessary costs.
- Lead, guide, and technically support workshop supervisors, foremen, technicians, and mechanics.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance records, service history, inspection reports, and ADNOC audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to ADNOC, Civil Defence, and client compliance.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- Strong practical and hands-on knowledge of maintenance for vehicles, heavy buses, cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Proven experience handling fleets operating in ADNOC or oil and gas environments.
- In-depth understanding of ADNOC site maintenance requirements, safety standards, and approval processes.
- Solid knowledge of Civil Defence regulations related to diesel tankers, water tankers, and sewage tankers.
- Strong expertise in crane maintenance, inspection coordination, and compliance management.
- Excellent understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and condition-based maintenance practices.
- Experience managing large fleet workshops with high vehicle availability expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in fleet maintenance, preferably within oil and gas or ADNOC projects.
- Relevant certifications in heavy equipment, crane maintenance, or OEM training will be an added advantage.
