SEO Data Entry Specialist - Internship

Job Summary

The SEO Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurate and fast uploading, formatting, and publishing of SEO content (pages/blogs) in CMS platforms while following on-page SEO checklists. This role ensures that website content is structured correctly, optimized for search engines, internally linked, and published with proper metadata, images, and schema (where provided).

Key Responsibilities

1) Content Upload & Publishing

• Upload blog posts, landing pages, and location pages in WordPress / Shopify / Webflow / other CMS.
• Format content properly (headings H1-H3, bullets, tables, quotes, spacing).
• Ensure content matches provided SEO brief and structure.

2) On-Page SEO Implementation (Checklist Based)

• Add/optimize SEO Title, Meta Description, URL Slug.
• Apply correct H-tags, keyword placement (without stuffing), and readability.
• Add internal links (as per instructions) + ensure anchor text is relevant.
• Add external links when required (credible sources).
• Set correct canonical, index/noindex, follow/nofollow as instructed.

3) Media Handling (Image + Alt Text)

• Upload images with correct naming conventions (SEO-friendly file names).
• Compress images (web-friendly) and add proper ALT text.
• If required: basic geo-tagging workflow (as per company SOP).
• Ensure featured image + in-content images are placed correctly.

4) Technical Content Hygiene

• Check mobile formatting, spacing, broken layouts, and missing elements.
• Fix broken links, missing images, wrong redirects (basic checks).
• Create/maintain basic categories/tags (as per site rules).

5) Data Entry in SEO Sheets / Tracking

• Update Google Sheets/Excel trackers for:
• Published URLs, status, publish date
• Meta details, word count, images used
• Internal links added, schema added (if provided)
• Maintain clean documentation for each project.

6) Quality Assurance Before Publish

• Proof-check formatting, headings, links, and metadata.
• Run basic SEO plugin checks (Yoast/RankMath) and fix obvious issues.
• Coordinate with Content Writer/SEO Lead for revisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum education: Intermediate / Bachelor preferred.
• 1+ year experience in data entry, CMS uploading, or SEO support (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail (must not miss tags, links, metadata).
• Good English reading/writing understanding (Norwegian is a plus if working on NO sites).

Familiar with:

• WordPress (Gutenberg/Elementor basics), Shopify posting, or similar CMS
• Yoast / RankMath
• Google Sheets/Docs

Preferred (Good to Have) Basic understanding of:

• Keyword intent, internal linking strategy
• Schema basics (FAQ/LocalBusiness) when provided
• Page speed best practices (image compression, lazy load basics)

Experience with:

• Trello/Asana/ClickUp
• Canva (simple image edits)
• ChatGPT-assisted formatting (following strict SOP)

• Accuracy rate (meta, links, formatting): 95%+
• Publishing speed: pages/posts per day (target set by team lead)
• Zero broken links / missing images after publish
• SEO checklist compliance per page (100%)
• Tracker updates completed same day

Working Style Expectations

• Follow SOPs strictly (no guessing-ask the lead if unclear).
• Maintain organized records and clean trackers.
• Meet deadlines and communicate delays early.
• Respect confidentiality of client sites and data.

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: Rs15,000.00 per month
