Position Summary/Objective:

The SEO Specialist’s responsibilities include conducting audits of our members’ websites, preparing site migration documents, monitoring organic search performance of member websites, managing paid SEO services for members, and assisting the Director of SEO in other strategic SEO efforts. Ultimately, you will help contribute to our SEO efforts as determined by the Director of SEO.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Analyze member sites for optimization opportunities
• Prepare and conduct keyword research for better understanding of industry trends
• Create comprehensive SEO strategies to improve organic traffic and ultimately members’ bottom lines
• Conduct in-depth analysis of organic traffic in Google Analytics
• Track SERP rankings in Google Search Console for members’ sites
• Assure data integrity for organic traffic/SEO reports for members
• Evaluate member performance in AI chat platforms as well as AI Overviews in the SERP
• Any other SEO task as assigned by the Director of SEO

Remote Work/Travel: This position will work remotely from a home address and subject to AVB’s Remote Work policies and procedures which are then in effect. In addition, from time to time, this position will be required to engage in travel, including travel to attend AVB’s Annual All-Employee Meeting as well as other travel obligations which may be required of the position such as meetings with members, attendance at conventions and shows and other events where you will represent AVB. (Any requests for accommodations to required travel (including medical) should be addressed with Human Resources.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of backlinking (white hat)
• Exposure to developing and maintaining media relations
• Competency in the Microsoft Suite
• An ability to correctly manipulate data using Microsoft Excel
• An understanding of basic web-traffic metrics, or ability to learn
• Hands-on experience with content management systems
• Understanding of SEO as it relates to AI
• Knowledge in the furniture and appliance space a plus!

Education and Experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience in content marketing or SEO
• BA in Marketing, Communications, Business, or relevant field
• A desire to learn and understand basic SEO tasks
• Proven ability to gather and maintain data
• Basic understanding of Google Analytics
• Ability to understand and pick up on new software
• Strong organizational, time management, project management and analytical skills
• Ability to think creatively, make strategic decisions, and identify and resolve problems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet regular deadlines in an evolving and fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a team and independently
• High quality standards - not perfectionism
• Ability to learn quickly and conduct independent research
